We have done our photos now and there are some lovely bird ones taken just from sitting outside at Pelican Cottage!

One of today’s newspapers has a two page spread about KI and is promoting [a competitor] yet again. If we are ever lucky enough to return we would want to stay in
Pelican Cottage again!

Our stay at Pelican Cottage was so wonderful, we wanted to stay longer! How wonderful it was to be at such a serene and peaceful place with the variety of birdlife greeting us each day. Our morning breakfast was breathtaking as we overlooked the lagoon, as was our time when we would have a glass of wine at the end of the day. So peaceful! The cottage was very comfortable with everything that we needed. It's location was perfect to do our trips around the island. Mary-Alice ensured that we were comfortable and came to see us off when we left.

The cottage was exactly as described and really cosy, it surpassed what we expeccted. The location was excellent, the sunrise was a WOW factor. Everything we could want the cottage had.......Mary-Alice and Ron were extremely helpful and we recommend Pelican Cottage as a great place to stay. Location, wildlife, all the comforts of home.

Wonderful hosts and a charming cottage made for a very enjoyable stay on Kangaroo Island. We especially liked sitting on the verandah with the beautiful views across the lagoon watching the birds, including the pelicans in the distance. The cottage comes equipped with everything you need for a holiday, and Mary-Alice and Ron provide lots of books and brochures about KI, including the diverse wildlife. We highly recommend it and would love to come back some day.

The cottage was immaculate with good resources for self-contained living and a great source of reading material, music and movies should we have needed them. Access upon arrival was easy and our stay was comfortable with everything in the property exactly as described. We even had a list of local places to eat left for us as we were getting to the property late. The view was amazing, we couldn't have asked for better accommodation for our requirements, it made the holiday the best it could possibly be. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

We stayed for three nights and found it a great place to be. The house has plenty of space and is well-equipped for cooking. The view to the bay is marvellous and the distance to most of the sights is reasonable. We appreciate a lot the kind support and warm welcome of our host - especially the good recommendations for dinner (we had a great evening at Tru Thai.

The most charming cottage ever! We lived every second we were there.. While we stayed at the cottage, we saw several different types of birds, and one night we sat out on the porch, when 3 wallabies slowly went through the garden, right in front of the porch. Truly a spectacular experience. On the first night, Ron was super friendly, and sat down with us for 15-30 minutes, and told us his recommendation for the time we we're on KI. Super interesting and friendly man. We would highly recommend this place.

We such an AMAZING time staying with Mary-Alice and her husband Ron! They are wonderful people, who make you immediately feel at home. We spent 3 nights there and wish we could have stayed longer as KI is such a cool, magical and gorgeous place and their place is the perfect spot to do it. As Mary-Alice and Ron are both tour guides, they had a wealth of information and were able to tell us everywhere to visit with our car and even mapped it out for us. The communication prior to arrival with Mary-Alice was excellent and she really helped us to understand some of the specifics and needs regarding the ferry, grocery stores, need for car, etc. The house itself and location were great! We saw over 15+ wallabies on their street when we arrived and the views from the room into the lagoon and their yard is amazing. The bed was comfy and their house has a wonderful homey feel to it. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with them and for a couple who have been traveling for over 6 months straight and stayed at over 20+ Airbnbs, we can honestly say this was one of the biggest highlights of our trip and we can't wait to go back. You must stay here if you want to have a great time in KI and meet fabulous people!

Staying with Ron at Muston was absolutely great (unfortunately we didn't meet Mary-Alice at this time). Their house is beautifully set in front of the Pelican Lagoon. The sunrise is amazing there. We had such a warm welcome and Ron made us feel like we're at home! With the best tips for our tours, great stories and conversations with a glass of wine we had an incredible and unforgettable stay at KI. Thanks again for making these days so special! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to join the beauty of the Island and hopefully we can come back again!

This little Pelican Lagoon hide-away is ideal for rest, relaxation, and getting in touch with nature from the ease and comforts of a true Aussie home. Just as the pictures show, you can wake up to watch the most glorious sunrise from the big wide windows of this gorgeous cabin. You can sip your coffee and watch the dolphins play in the American River. And you can gaze at a perfect night sky--with no light pollution at all. The neighbourhood is very safe and very quite and I had the feeling that everyone was quite friendly and happy to help. I highly recommend staying here. The location is 30 min from the ferry and a great way to launch a tour of Kangaroo Island.

Very good welcome from Mary-Alice and Ron. The place is quiet lagoon. A good introduction to begin our tour of Kangaroo Island.  Really a pleasure to return to this place, so nice, with friendly hosts ...

Our stay with Mary-Alice in their cosy house with nice views on the Pelican Lagoon was awesome. Mary-Alice is an excellent host who made us feel very welcome, gave us helpful tips and knows a lot about the wildlife on KI since she works as a guide in Seal Bay. She kindly provided us a nice breakfast so we could start our day exploring the beauty of KI right away.

Mary-Alice and Ron made us a perfect stay after an exciting day on KI. They are very warm-hearted and gave us great advise for our trip through Australia while having dinner with us. Finally the house was perfectly clean and without doubt I would stay with them again!

We attended a tour at the Seal Bay. Interestingly, Mary-Alice was our guide. She gave us lots details on how to find her house. Both Mary-Alice and her husband are a wonderful person. They would like to help us when we were in trouble. We had a very nice stay at their place.
